Amy serves as the Director of Arts at the Stanislaus County Office of Education and as the California County Superintendents Arts Initiative Region 6 Lead. Amy is passionate about cultivating compassionate and creative leaders for current and emerging professions by ensuring art is a vibrant part of the everyday experiences of students. She does this by designing and developing art education opportunities for students and teachers. She aggressively pursues grants to fund this work, and was the projector director for a U.S. DOE Professional Development for Art Education grant for $1.4 million, and a California Department of Education Student Support and Academic Enrichment grant for $1 million. Amy is most interested in the intersection of creativity and play as they relate to the ideal neurological conditions for learning. . . and, finding more ways to utilize Visual and Performing Arts for peaceful world domination. She holds a BFA in Art from the University of Georgia, an MAT in Art Education from Kennesaw State University, and an EdS in Special Education from Kennesaw State University.
